Tree Surveys & Management Plans

This is a great service for those unsure of the health of their trees and their safety.

  • These include both ground and aerial surveys.
  • All trees within the survey have their species, condition and any remedial work required listed.
  • Management plans include the nature of the remedial work required. Also the the regularity of any follow up work that is needed.

All surveys with Great Heights are in accordance with 135583; 2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction recommendations.

Root Treatments

Root treatments are a great way of improving a trees overall vitality and increase its ability to resist environmental stress and the effects of pathogens.
‍
We combine our own compost extracts with inoculated bio char to create a powerful soil improving medium.
‍
Digging carefully around the root zones, we create a space to backfill with the medium, ensuring there is no negative impact on the soil and roots.

Bio char is a range of organic material carbonised at extremely high temperatures. The result is nearly pure carbon and when inoculated it means its already filled with a rich mixture of microbes and nutrients.

Tree Planting

At Great Heights we can assess the grounds and the soil for what trees would be most suitable, source the trees and carry out the
planting works required.

Types of planting range from fruit trees, to biodiverse hedging and native woodland creation.  

Workshops

A recent endevour has been facilitating tree planting and pruning workshops. These have been for Common Knowledge in County Clare.

Great Heights is run by Robin Johnson, with over 10 years experience in arboriculture. From tree pruning and thinning for silviculture companies in Canada, to working as a climbing arborist in Ireland. Now working in Tree Surveying and Management Plans.

He has a passion for trees, their health and sustainable tree work. Fully insured, you can be assured of a professional and expert service up to date with modern arboricultural practice.

Great Heights is based in North West Clare. Regularly servicing Clare, Galway and Limerick, with scope to travel nationally.
